NBC4 FEATURE: KEEPING KIDS AWAY FROM VIOLENCE IN OHIO

7/12/21

The ongoing violence in Columbus inspired one man to pick up his bags and move back to the city. Now, he’s hoping his non-profit can help bring the violence down and create change.

Job Clarkson said he grew up in Linden and knows what it’s like to fall victim to making bad decisions.

“Before I was 24, I had already committed felonies and been in trouble with the law,” he said. “One of my friends took me into the studio and ever since then, I haven’t been in any trouble.”

Turkey Drive-Thru Giveaway

11/20/20

The Thanksgiving season gives each of us a chance to reflect on the many blessings in our life. Not only that, but it also gives us the chance to GIVE BACK!

To kick off this season of giving, we’re helping to sponsor a Turkey Giveaway for families in need in the city of Lynwood on Saturday, November 21, 2020. We’re honored to participate for the first time this year along with so many other incredible sponsors.

Sponsors include the City of Lynwood, California; Parks Make Life Better; Superior Groceries; La Union Hace La Fuerza; and Fox 11 Los Angeles.

Give Away Park

9/4/20

Beyond our youth music program, the Heart of Job Foundation regularly partners up with other organizations to give. We call this our “give away park” initiative—we just want to give stuff away to people in need!

Recipients span from members of the Boys and Girls Club to homeless people to those with special needs. The place where we hold events won’t always be a park—it’s sometimes a parking lot or an indoor space. But it will always be a place at which we can give.

Compton Food Distribution

7/13/20

The COVID-19 pandemic hit certain communities harder than others, leaving many individuals and groups particularly vulnerable to not only the virus, but also its economic effects.

Last week we teamed up with Yasiel Puig’s Wild Horse Children’s Foundation and and the mayor of Compton to give away tons of food, hand sanitizer, and masks to members of the community who otherwise wouldn’t have ready access to these necessities.

We gathered (safely, of course) at Gonzales Park in downtown Compton and, thanks to the many organizations and sponsors listed on the flier below, helped many people with their hunger and health! Thank you to all who were a part of this event.

Gallito Toy Drive

4/3/20

The Christmas season always provides ample opportunities to give.

In December 2019, we gathered as friends at the Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment Disorders to hold a toy drive for the patients there.

The Center for Autism wrote some kind words about us in their April newsletter:

“We are blown away by the support and the amount of toys we received from the Heart of JOB Foundation in collaboration Gallito Max Foundation! Being a pediatric center, it’s crucial to have a variety of toys available for our patients during their assessment and intervention appointments. We are forever thankful to those who participated in this toy drive! Because of the collaboration and support of these two organizations, CAND is able to create an even more welcoming environment for our patients.”

Warming Hearts Blanket Drive

1/3/20

On the morning of December 21, we gathered at Secombre Park and gave 300 blankets to local homeless individuals. Many generous donors in the area provided us with materials to donate.

200 families walked away with not only blankets, but also socks, toiletries, and food/drinks for Christmas dinner.

Our goals for this year:

  1. Warm the hearts of those without homes.

  2. Make this year something special by giving away more than just food and water.

  3. Don’t turn away anyone in need.
